N i n e F i f t y ' s music is best described as Funky Nu Millennium
Soul, or: a tasty mix of Jazzified Soul and XtraFunky Hip-Hop
grooves. The warm, unique voice of Miss Dee blends perfectly with
the original, lively beats that Jay Soul serves up. Similar artists
include Jill Scott, D'Angelo, Erykah Badu, Bilal, Lauryn Hill,
etc. Their cd Mango juice was chosen as 'Demo of the Month' by
the Dutch National Pop Association and received loads of positive
reactions from listeners, press and industry alike (Warner, Virgin,
Sony etc.). They've already had two #1 hits at MP3.COM (Tears
and Ex-Change). N i n e F i f t y is: singer Miss Dee (Rotterdam,
21 years). A very talented singer with a strong passion for making
true music influenced by Jazz, 70's Soul, Latin, Funk, and more.

Akrobatik, Detonator's flagship artist, is one of hip-hop's brightest
up-and-comers. Ever since he exploded on the scene with his first
single, "Ruff Enuff" b/w "Woman" back in 1998, people haven't
been able to get Akro off their minds. Boasting a presence on
stage that is amongst the best in the business, Ak's razor-sharp
delivery and keen wit always keeps the listeners on their toes.
MCs with as much versatility as Akro are few and far between.
Whether lacing a straight battle track ("The Flow," for example),
showing love to the ladies (see "Woman" or "U Got It"), or calling
out fakers on the 'Net (peep the now-classic Rawkus release "Internet
MC's"), Ak approaches every topic and style with equal dexterity,
proving why his buzz just won't die down for anything. Ak is about
to begin a European tour that will take him to 8 countries, and
will also hit the road in the U.S. before the end of a busy 2001.
Expect more from the Boston-born-and-raised MC/producer whose
self-titled EP on Detonator Records is still making worldwide
noise.
