ChandaLeigh Bailey
Young, sexy and intelligent, ChandaLeigh is not your ordinary performer. Born in New England, the ambitious pianist began playing for her father's church at 12 years old. After finishing high school with honors, it was an easy decision to attend Spelman College in Atlanta, where she created The Chanda Bailey Trio. Two years after finishing school, the budding artist moved to Los Angeles to begin her television career playing keyboards in the house band of the Keenen Ivory Wayans Show. After the show was cancelled a year later, ChandaLeigh didn't give up on her dream of being a successful performer. Instead, she met and befriended Producer DaMone Arnold. The two instantly formed a musical bond. And when she embarked upon a world tour with the Grammy-nominated reggae band, Morgan Heritage, she returned with a broadened awareness of the world, and lots of music in her heart. It was with this inspiration, that she and DaMone recorded such songs as "People Are the Same" and "Take a Chance". Currently, ChandaLeigh is finishing up her debut album, which she playfully describes as a hybrid of Janet Jackson, Thelonious Monk and Stevie Wonder. Her talents have been showcased on MTV, The Roseanne Show, and Darryl Simmons' The World Beat. And she will also grace the big screen later this summer in the Jerry Bruckheimer film, "Coyote Ugly". The musically gifted ChandaLeigh is eager to see how far her creative wings will carry her. She says, " I am not afraid of what lies ahead, because I've been doing this all my life."
